It’s not snowy outside.  But it is cold.  And I am listening to “Baby it’s Cold Outside” (my favorite version will always be Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban.  He kills it with that accent.) and remembering planning my wedding.  My fiancee and I were sitting in a Starbuck’s in Manila listening to this Christmas song while we planned last minute wedding details (“We should buy the groomsmen’s ties here. Should I tell you what song I’m walking down to, or surprise you?”).

Every time I hear “Baby it’s Cold Outside” it brings back good feelings.  My friends and family had done so much to plan and make our wedding so wonderful and lovely, and the final touches we were discussing were so small.

So here is what I have to say for you if you are planning a wedding for 2013: bring in your family, and bring in your friends.  Make your celebration a celebration of love.  Between you and your one love, but also of the love of your family and friends.  And make your wedding a celebration of what makes the two of you unique.

Here’s a sneak peek at this month’s wedding, the rest of the pictures will come after the holidays- Ashley and Ade had a warm winter wedding on the steps of Ashley Inn, surrounded by their loved ones, and so in love with each other.   Every detail was a little picture of some piece of Ashley or Ade, and the details all worked together to create a whimsical, beautiful, fairy tale place.
