I don’t remember getting into my bridal gown. And my wedding was not that long ago.
I remember the details of the months it took to have the gown made. I remember having to tell the designer that the curling lace at the neckline looked like bug antennae and would have to go. I remember the fittings and adjustments and fitting again :) But the memory of getting into my lovely gown on the day it was made for is gone. I don’t remember who was with me, or what room I was in, or who did up the buttons on the back. The memory is just not there. I think it was the nervousness and the rush that stole it away.
Since I’ve lost that memory I do my best to snatch all of the important moments out of time on a bride’s big, nervous, (usually) rushed, exciting, terrifying, lovely, wonderful day, and pin them down permanently in print. That way when the memories try to fade from her she can call them back to herself.
Here are some memories.
